Home work buddies: A employee volunteering program launched in July 2009

Today, we have more than 15 volunteers taking part in this program. The enthusiasm of employees have prompted the Foundation to launch various other volunteering program where in employees across the ING business can help children (under the care of Foundation’s partner organizations) for shorter period of time to develop their learning skills and to fulfil their recreational needs.

Announcing volunteering program for next three months (January, February and March 2010):

Donate your old clothes/stationeries/bed sheets and bed covers:
ING Vysya Foundation announces a five –day long program (28th Jan to 2nd Feb 2010) for donating your old/unused materials that could be provided to children for a good use. You can donate clothes, bedcovers, bed sheets which have remained unused in your wardrobes for long time; note books, pencils, erasers, colour pencils, rulers/scales. Please do ensure that the clothes are clean, not torn and are well packed. Please make separate packets for different age groups. You can keep separate boxes in your pantry areas for the same and identify an organisation in your location to donate clothes and stationeries. You can form teams to visit the identified organization in a given day, during the second week of February 2010 for donating the same.

For more details, contact Joyatri Ray @ joyatri.r@ingvysyabank.com.

Donate your time to spend some time with children in your region:

Volunteer with SUPPORT in Mumbai: Support has two day care centres - one for boys outside CST (VT) station and another for girls outside Dadar railway station. For those who would not mind interacting with street children who drop-in at our centre, may do so on Saturdays between 4 pm and 6 pm. You need to form a volunteer group of 5 to 8 for it to be successful, with a team leader who can coordinate with Ms. Joyatri Ray, Director-projects . Smaller groups of 2 to 4 can then visit on Saturdays alternately. This would ensure continuity for the volunteering programme to be successful. The volunteers can do story telling, basic literacy or fun and games with the kids. The program will be initiated from 2nd week of February 2010.

Please contact Ms. Tania Nag @ tania.nag@ingvysyabank.com for more details.
